This katana features a 28-inch tamahagane steel blade with a Manji pattern motif on the Moko-style tsuba, fuchi, and kashira. The design is traditional in appearance, with a focus on simple fittings and a functional blade.
The blade is forged from tamahagane steel and differentially hardened to produce a visible hamon. The edge is finished with a traditional hazuya polish, which helps bring out the hamon along the blade.
The tsuka measures 10.5 inches and uses real white rayskin beneath the handle wrap. Hishigami are used during the tsukamaki process to help keep the wrap tight and even.
The habaki and seppa are made from brass, and the handle is finished with cotton ito. The overall construction is designed to keep the sword traditional in appearance while remaining suitable for practical use.
