Bamboo 竹 Iaito

An iaito is a Japanese training sword used for practicing drawing, forms, and controlled techniques. It resembles a katana in appearance, but the blade is blunt, making it better suited for regular martial arts training.

This iaito is made from 9260 spring steel and heat-treated with an oil-quenching process for added toughness and durability. The deep tome-hi helps reduce overall weight, giving the sword a lighter and faster feel during practice.

The groove also helps produce a clear sound during proper swings, which can be useful for practicing blade alignment. The removable tsuka is wrapped with quality cotton ito for a secure grip during repeated training.
