Bonji Tamahagane Steel Katana

This katana features Sanskrit characters representing various deities, including Buddhist and Shinto figures, reflecting the rich syncretism of Japan's religious traditions and the historical fusion of Shinto and Buddhism.

The blade is traditionally hand-forged from differentially hardened tamahagane steel and polished with traditional stones and powders to achieve an authentic and striking appearance.

Each fitting, including the tsuba, fuchi, and kashira, is crafted from cast iron and intricately carved with Sanskrit characters.

The tsuka is wrapped in genuine black same-gawa (rayskin), with blue silk ito applied tightly using hishigami (paper wedges) for improved geometry and grip.

The saya is finished in a natural varnish and complemented by black buffalo horn koiguchi, kurigata, and kojiri for a refined appearance.
