Chrysanthemum Katana
Chrysanthemum Katana
This katana features chrysanthemum motif fittings, a symbol of longevity and rejuvenation. The chrysanthemum has represented the imperial family since the Kamakura period and is part of more than 150 Kamon (family crests).
The blade is traditionally hand-forged with a differential clay-tempered hardening process, showcasing a Gunome-style hamon. It is hand-polished to achieve an authentic and refined appearance.
The fittings, including the guard, fuchi, kashira, and menuki, are crafted from quality cast brass.
The tsuka is wrapped in genuine same-gawa (rayskin) and finished with high-quality brown synthetic silk ito. The tsuka-maki is secured with hishigami (paper wedges) for an extremely tight and precise grip.
