An iaito is a Japanese sword designed for training and practice, serving as a precursor to using a katana. It resembles a katana in appearance but is blunted and lacks a sharp edge, making it safer for beginners to handle as they progress in their martial arts training.
This iaito comes with a nice classic black katana look. It is made of 1050 heat-treated steel with a blunt blade edge, and full tang construction perfectly fit for iaido practice. The fittings are made of durable cast iron, and the tsuka is wrapped with authentic ray skin.
