Date Masamune was a Japanese daimyo (feudal lord) who lived during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. He was the founder and first lord of the Sendai domain, which was located in the northeast of Japan, and is remembered as one of the most important figures of the Sengoku period.

This armor bears the famous crest of the date clan which was a stylized depiction of a crescent moon with horns facing upward, known as the "Date no Maru" or "Date mon". This crest was a symbol of the Date clan and was used by Masamune and his descendants as a mark of their authority and power.

The origins of the Date crest are uncertain, but it is believed to have been inspired by the crescent moon that appears in the night sky. The crescent moon was a common symbol in Japanese culture, representing the cyclical nature of life and the passing of time.

The rest of the armor is crafted to resemble the traditional armor that the date clan would have worn during the time. This armor is a must-have for fans of the samurai and the Sengoku period.

***IMPORTANT NOTE***

All our Samurai Armors are hand-forged from scratch, please allow 3-6 months for forging and shipment. They are also custom made to fit you, so please follow the directions for measuring below then add your measurements under Order Details in the checkout menu.

Measuring Instructions:

Required Measurements: Waist Circumference, Chest Circumference, Height & Weight

Please measure with a tailor's tape measure (soft tape measure).

For waist circumference use a tailor’s tape measure (or soft tape measure) and place the end of the tape at your belly button, and wrap straight around until the other side finishes again at your belly button. The soft tape measure should be snug not tight around your waist. This is your waist circumference.

For chest measurement wrap the soft tape measure underneath your armpits at the widest part of your chest. Again this measurement should be snug, not tight.
