Kobuse Laminated Oni Tamahagane Steel Katana

This katana features a Kobuse-laminated blade with a Hazuya polish that brings out the hamon and gives the blade a clean, traditional finish.

The tsuba has an Oni-themed design and is made from copper with gold and silver-plated details. The fittings give the sword a more distinctive look while keeping the overall design traditional.

The tsuka is wrapped in high-quality rayskin (same), with hishigami used during the tsukamaki process to help keep the wrap tight, even, and secure.

The saya is finished in glossy black lacquer and uses horn fittings at the koiguchi, kurigata, and kojiri. A partial rattan wrap adds extra texture and reinforcement.

Kobuse lamination combines a softer inner core with a harder outer steel. The softer shingane helps the blade absorb shock, while the harder kawagane forms the outer layer and cutting edge.
