Orchid 蘭 Iaito

An iaito is a Japanese training sword used for practicing drawing, forms, and controlled techniques. It has the appearance and balance of a katana, but the blade is blunt, making it better suited for regular martial arts training.

This iaito features a full tang blade made from 9260 spring steel and oil-quenched for added toughness and durability. The blade uses a soe-hi style groove with a wide and narrow fuller, helping reduce weight and giving the sword a lighter, faster feel during practice.

The fuller also helps produce a clear sound during proper swings, which can be useful for practicing blade alignment. The removable tsuka is tightly wrapped with quality cotton ito for a secure grip during repeated training.
