An iaito is a Japanese sword designed for training and practice, serving as a precursor to using a katana. It resembles a katana in appearance but is blunted and lacks a sharp edge, making it safer for beginners to handle as they progress in their martial arts training.
This iaito features a full tang blade forged from 9260 spring steel with enhanced performance and toughness through its oil-quenching heat treatment process. The deep soe Hi(wide hi+narrow hi) reduces weight, making it light and fast. With each swing, experience a satisfying "whooshing" sound as the blade cuts through the air. The removeable handle is tightly wrapped in quality cotton ito to provide a positive grip that will withstand years of practice.
