Partially Wrapped Rattan Triskeles Tamahagane Steel Katana
Partially Wrapped Rattan Triskeles Tamahagane Steel Katana
This katana blade is crafted using tamahagane steel through traditional methods, featuring sanmai lamination and a differential clay-tempered hardening process. The blade is mirror-polished, showcasing an attractive folded grain (hada) and hamon.
The tsuka is wrapped with high-quality rayskin (same), with hishigami (paper wedges) applied during the tsuka-maki process for a secure and precise fit.
The fittings are made from durable cast iron.
The saya is finished with a deep black lacquer, accented with buffalo horn koiguchi and kurikata, and partially wrapped with rattan for added style and strength.
This katana was originally customized for another customer, where he asked the Triskeles symbol of Sicily to be engraved on the blade. If you like the style the katana is now available to be crafted for you.
