Tsunami Nodachi
Tsunami Nodachi
A nodachi is a type of traditional Japanese longsword or greatsword. It is characterized by its unusually long blade, often exceeding four feet (120 centimeters) in length, with some nodachi reaching lengths of six feet (180 centimeters) or more. This exceptional length distinguishes it from more standard Japanese swords like katana and tachi, which are typically shorter.
The 38" long blade is forged and folded in T10 steel and differentially tempered; the Hamon is also hand polished. The long tang is double-pegged for security. The stunning Tsuba is made of a brass with a "tsunami" design and brass habaki. The saya is finished in a deep black lacquer with partial rayskin wrapped.
